There is a High Quality mode, which probably works better on a larger screen; the regular quality version looks better on my 7? Nexus tablet. You can change the speed at which the model rotates (forward only, as far as I can tell at the moment). Using a single up/down stroke you adjust the angle of view, from almost the ecliptic plane (which is the plane of the ‘table’ of the Orrery) to almost directly overhead. Using a pinching motion, you can resize the image in continuous increments. Using left-to-right motions you can spin the model forward or backward, overriding the speed set by the slider at the bottom. I was looking for a planar model which could be moved manually, specifically to get my head around the present conjunction of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter, but this one is a fair alternative. This app would make a lot more sense for someone who was well acquainted with its clockwork precursors.
